Foundations of Kundalini Yoga Therapy

Foundations: Principle and Practices of Kundalini Yoga Therapy

Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher training prepares us to teach to people who are healthy. A seperate set of skills and a different way of thinking are required to teach to people with health conditions. This training gives Kundalini Yoga teachers the foundations we need to develop skills to teach therapeutic Kundalini Yoga safely and effectively.

In this 4-day training we learn to meet the clients at their starting point and help them mobilize inner resources. We explore the unique structure of a therapeutic Kundalini Yoga class and the layering modle of teaching Kundalini Yoga to people with health conditions. Yogi Bhajan’s 15 principles of teaching Kundalini Yoga as a therapeutic intervention are detailed and the psychology of health recovery and the role of family and friends are addressed.

  • You will experience the differences between a yoga teacher, yogic healer, and a yoga therapist and the specific language of each.
  • Special attention is given to personal development to engender awareness, strength and subtlety of the sensory system, intuition, compassion, deep listening, sentivity, humility, endurance, radiance and grace.
  • A Kundalini Yoga curriculum for a mixed health conditions group class is included.
